Penny Mays is Lakefront Eye Care’s own Edgewater native; born, raised and living in the same home she grew up in. Penny helped Dr. Bert open Lakefront Eye Care in 2015 from placing the first frame up on the wall to helping grow the practice and introducing new and advanced technologies that provide extraordinary and personalized care for the community. Penny’s personal experience of needing corrective glasses and contact lenses since she was a young child inspired her dedication to the field of optometry. Her passion for patient advocacy can be seen everywhere in the practice from scheduling appointments and analyzing how to best utilize insurance and vision plan benefits, to her work as an ophthalmic technician and helping patients through specialized testing. She loves teaching patients about different options for contacts lenses and their handling with her expertise in soft contact lenses, RGP hard lenses and specialty scleral lenses. Penny’s experience in the optical has made her one of Lakefront Eye Care’s best opticians. She understands the importance of finding that perfect frame and recommending the latest and greatest lens technologies to help each person’s individual vision needs. Penny believes the gift of sight is one of the best gifts anybody can give and is honored and proud to be a part of it. During her free time, Penny loves spending quality time with her family.
